Campaign Aims to Give Kids What They Need To Do Their Best - A Little Encouragement NEW YORK, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- At 16, Shawn Johnson won gold. Less than a year later, she was crowned a national dance sensation. From the gym to the ballroom, Johnson credits her success to encouragement she received from her parents and mentors. This fall, Johnson is partnering with the Lunch Note Promise Campaign brought to you by the new Lunchables to inspire parents to give kids that same type of support, in big and small ways. Making the Promise The Lunchables team is asking parents and caregivers nationwide to promise to drop a note of encouragement into their child's lunch. For every parent that logs onto www.lunchnotepromise.com and makes that promise, the Lunchables team will donate a meal to children and families in need through Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief charity, which serves an estimated nine million children each year. The goal is to turn 100,000 promises into up to 100,000 meals. "We believe every child can succeed if they are given support and encouragement," said Darin Dugan, Senior Director of Marketing, Lunchables. "The Lunchables Lunch Note Promise Campaign gives parents a way to feed the success of their children while helping other kids in need." Lunchnotepromise.com also provides free downloadable stationery that includes more than six vibrant, customizable patterns that parents can use to create fun and cheerful notes that will delight their kids. Shawn Johnson Helps Kids Do Their Best Shawn Johnson officially launched the Lunchables Lunch Note Promise Campaign today at the 92ND Street Y in New York City, where she shared her secrets to success with some very special kids. She also delivered a donation of $10,000 worth of gym equipment to help the kids develop their talents and achieve their full potential. "I know a little note can make a big impact," said Johnson. "I hope the Lunch Note Promise Campaign will give kids across the country a little extra encouragement."
